The UNFCCC 22nd Conference of the Parties has started today in Morocco, Marrakech.
This conference should result in development of implementation supporting documents for the Paris Climate Agreement. At this point 100 countries have formally joined Paris Climate Agreement. The conference will continue throughout two weeks’ time. Some interesting facts on global climate financing have already been presented
There is evident increase in mobilization of resources for concrete climate actions, in particular in developing countries. However, gaps are still there in order to reach 100 billion USD per year by 2020, and a lot is still to be discussed in Marrakech.
High Level segment of the conference, involving heads of states and governments, will start on Tuesday 15th of November.
