Within the framework of the Climate Diplomacy Week, EU Delegation in Serbia, Ministry of Environmental Protection and UNDP organized a panel discussion with CSOs.
“Forging climate smart partnerships” was organized in order to engage all relevant actors (experts, academia and CSOs) from the beginning of the preparation of the reports to the UNFCCC for Serbia.
Professor Djurdjevic, PhD (Institute of Meteorology, Faculty of Physics), was speaking about climate change scenarios and possible adaptation measures, while prof. Jovovic, PhD (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) was speaking about mitigation potentials of Serbia’s economy sectors.
Apart form improvement of information of previously submitted reports to the UNFCCC, related to GHG Inventory, proposed adaptation and mitigation measures, during the project implementation, very important will be communication of the results, in order to improve transparency of the process, as well as final results.
In the context of Talanoa Dialogue, the importance of joint action was stressed out to identify and support actions which will lead to sustainable development.
The project “Second Biennial Update Report and Third National Communication to the UNFCCC for the Republic of Serbia” is being implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection with technical support of the UNDP and financial support of Global Environmental Facility (GEF).
