The Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) has launched a platform for mapping the “climate problems” in Belgrade, which is available here http://belgrade.terrifica.eu/ where everybody have a chance to use it during the summer and mark the places which are worst hit by the heat. At the same time, this is a great opportunity to single out both the good and bad examples of climate change adaptation with which Belgradians are faced with every day. Also, an opportunity for some of the challenges to be solved in a constructive way.
The climate change challenge in Belgrade is real and tangible – the winters are soft and summers are hotter than ever before. The residents of Belgrade are witnessing more and more weather extremes such as heavy rainfalls and extreme droughts. Because of this, the CPN, together with the City Secretariat in charge of the environment, invites the citizens to join the mapping of the climate challenges in their city.
This action is supported by many experts who are, from their respective sides, warning that there is a need to change a personal attitude towards the environment and to raise an awareness about the importance of the climate change and its consequences on our planet.
