On 20th April 2015, seventh public hearing of the Committee for Environmental Protection entitled “Climate change as a reality in Serbia and EU – challenges, responses, opportunities” was held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. The UN Development Programme has supported the organization of the public hearing at which particularly, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, were presented the working version of “Serbia’s First Biennial Updated Report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change” and “Vulnerability and Adaptation Chapter of the Serbia’s Second National Communication to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change”. Further, participants of the public hearing were acquainted with the working version of the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INCDs) for Serbia – in the contet of the upcoming 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC which will be held in Paris, in December 2015.
Together with the representatives of relevant institutions, the public hearing speakers were representatives of the international community, the European Parliament, civil society organization and experts.
