The forty-sixth sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) and Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) in conjunction with the Working Group of the Paris Agreement (APA 1-3) will take place from 8 to 18 May 2017, in Bonn, Germany in preparation for the major COP 23 later this year in November.
Last year at COP 22 in Marrakech, the Conference successfully demonstrated to the world that the implementation of the Paris Agreement is underway and the constructive spirit of multilateral cooperation on climate change will continue.

This preliminary meeting will host delegates from all parties to the convention to discuss the progress of climate change issues and their requirements to the UNFCCC. Issues that will be discussed including the mandated event schedule are available in the following link:

Moreover, the Bonn Conference shall contribute crucially to development of a comprehensive and scientifically robust rule-book for communication of individual goals, and the Paris Agreement’s global goals, including reporting on and monitoring progress against these goals. Approaches for tracking progress in adaptation, climate finance, capacity building, technology transfer and making finance flows consistent with low emissions and climate-resilient development are also essential components for the discussion.
