03The final session of the event “Green activists – youth for the environment” organized by European Youth Centre, will be held on June 4th 2015, from 9 am till 3 pm in the Impact Hub, Makedonska street 21, in Belgrade.
The event is organized within the project “Green activists – Youth for Environment”, implemented by the European Youth Centre in partnership with the Centre for Ethics, Law and Applied Philosophy and Serbian Centre for Ecological Research. The project is supported through the programme SENSE implemented by the Regional Environmental Center (REC), funded by the Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (SIDA).
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of local youth offices, raise awareness among youth themselves in Serbia about importance of environment, specific problems in Serbia, and the possibility of their participation and practical contribution to environmental protection at the local level, and thus indirectly the national level.
On June 3, from 9 am, the results of the project will be presented and workshops on current topics such as the impact of climate change, modern technologies and environmental protection, biodiversity and gender equality in environmental protection, will be organized.
The final session will be held on June 4th 2015, and will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, Agency for the Environmental Protection, the Regional Environmental Centre, and UNDP Serbia, while the participation of the representative from the Embassy of France is announced, with the presentation of the upcoming event organized by the UN in Paris entitled ‘Towards climate change, Paris 2015”.
The event will bring together 50 representatives of youth offices, youth associations and young people across Serbia focused on environmental protection.
