Biography

Mr. Slobodan Jerotić was born in Šabac, 1963. Married, father of three children. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, majoring in thermal energy. Prior to 2014, he was involved in investment construction, design of thermal energy, thermotechnical and gas facilities and installations, and was engaged in several projects as an independent expert for energy efficiency, district heating and natural gas distribution. He worked as a municipal energy manager in the city of Sabac in the period 2014-2018. From February 2018 until today, he has been performing the duties of the General Director of JKP “Toplana-Šabac”. He participated in several projects related to the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the use of renewable energy, and in 2007 he was engaged by the Ministry of Mining and Energy in the implementation of the project Establishment of a network of energy managers in the Republic of Serbia. He has worked on projects funded by the German Office for Technical Assistance and Cooperation (GIZ) and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) focused on the application of renewable energy in public sector facilities. Among these projects, the most significant are BioEn – Promotion of biomass use in the Zlatibor region, BioVill (Horizon2020) – Development of technical and business model of biomass implementation in a small district heating network in the village Kostojevići, CoolHeating (Horizon2020) – Promotion of small modular district heating and cooling networks in communities in Eastern Europe. The most important project on the topic of application of energy efficiency measures was realized in Sabac 2011/2012, which included energy review, tri-economic analysis and proposal for implementation of optimal package of energy efficiency measures in 40 multi-family residential buildings in Benska bara in Sabac. Ongoing projects in which it participates are REPLACE (Horizon2020) Heating and cooling for end users in Europe which is efficient, economical, clean and climatically acceptable as well as BioSol (Interreg) cross-border cooperation project of Sabac and Gradiška (Croatia) which refers to the application biomass and solar energy as renewable energy sources. In cooperation with UNDP, implemented the project Establishment of SCADA system for monitoring and managing the operation of thermal substations in the district heating system in Sabac in the period 2019/2020. With the support of UNDP, the initiator of the establishment of the energy cooperative Sunčani krovovi in Šabac, the first energy cooperative in Serbia and the preparation of the Mayor’s Charter on the application of solar energy in local communities, in 2019.
