Biography

Dr. Vladimir Đurđević is an associate professor in the group for meteorology at the Faculty of Physics in Belgrade. He has been a visiting researcher at NCEP / NOAA (US), CMCC (IT), IST (PT) and ICoD (MT). He has participated in many projects funded by MPNTR, EU-H2020, EU-FP, IPA, JRC, IOC-UNESCO and GEF. He is currently the group leader from the Faculty of Physics who is a partner in the IS-ENES3 project and a participant in the Med-CORDEX initiative. He contributed to the development of National Climate Reports (UNFCCC) for Serbia, BiH, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Brazil. He was a member of the National Council for Climate Change as a representative of the University of Belgrade. He is the winner of the award of the Borivoje Dobrilović Fund of the World Meteorological Organization, the Annual Award of the Faculty of Physics for the most productive researcher and the award “Konstantin Jirecek Medal”. His expertise is numerical climate modeling, climate data analysis, vulnerability assessment and climate change adaptation. He has published over forty papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In addition to his academic career, he also gave public lectures on climate change. He actively advocates transformation towards a carbon-neutral society. He is one of the initiators of the “Green art incubator” project.
