ABOUT
With GEF support, Serbia aims to improve tracking and reporting of its climate actions by enhancing national institutional and technical capacities. This includes better coordination among stakeholders, improving technical skills, and strengthening information management systems.
The project addresses the need for efficient monitoring of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) mitigation and adaptation actions.
The project will result in enhanced compliance with the Paris Agreement’s Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF), better GHG inventory reporting, and improved adaptation-related data.
It will strengthen Serbia’s climate change regulatory and policy framework, enhancing transparency and accountability of its 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0).
The project will directly provide benefits to 550 individuals, with 51% female representation, mainly institutional representatives involved in ETF activities at national and local levels, as well as business and civil society sectors.
Achievements in strengthening technical developments and institutional arrangements will enhance national reporting and planning for the UNFCCC. This will improve GHG emissions reporting in National Communications (NC) and Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs) across Serbia, focusing on both climate change mitigation and adaptation.
